Different Issues, New Perspectives

Abstract

The complaint that reporting on Russia is sparse and inadequate is justified. But recurring themes such as stagnation, corruption, and the illusion of modernisation nourish Russia fatigue. This leads to less reporting about the country. Anybody who wishes to break this vicious circle will have to embark on new paths. Authors in the grand tradition of Polish reportage show how it is done. They describe Russia from the periphery and the ground up. Anybody who then analyses the centre in Moscow from an unusual perspective will bring fresh wind to the sails of serious reporting.
