Partnership with Limits
Russia and Iran

Abstract

Russia is considered one of Iran’s partners. With Moscow’s help, the Bushehr nuclear power plant was completed. In the United Nations Security Council, Russia and China have repeatedly prevented the imposition of sanctions with the aim of encouraging Iran to yield on the nuclear issue. But, in fact, it has been shown that Russia’s Iran policy is contradictory. Tehran expects more than Moscow is ready to give. In some fields of policy, these neighbours even have disputes.
