Russian Society in Transition

Abstract

The system of rule that emerged in Russia over the past decade faces a crisis of legitimacy. The forms of previous interaction between the state and the people no longer work. The image that Vladimir Putin’s apologists created in order to justify the authoritarian order has begun to crack. The stability, the lack of alternatives, and the general homogeneous support of the system are proving to be fiction.
